Information regarding St. Patrick Parish Religious Education Program.

Parish Religious Education Program (PREP)

St. Patrick‚Äôs Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is offered for students in grades one through six who do not attend Catholic school. PREP gives these parish children the opportunity to have their Catholic faith nurtured through formation and instruction in scripture and Church Tradition, prayer and worship, community, and service by catechists who work in two-person teams. PREP happens from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings [between the 8:30 and 11 a.m. masses], Sept. 13 through May 2, 2020 in the Bowling Commons, which is one level below the Church.

The fee for PREP is $50 per student, $150 maximum for any family. All children are accepted into the program regardless of ability to pay the registration fee. A waiver can be obtained by making your need known to Mr. Tim Grove, director of faith formation, at 502-719-0362 or tgrove@stpatlou.org  Fees are automatically waived for any children whose parent serves as a catechist or aide in PREP.

COVID-19 will impact us in the coming program year as we continue to observe "stay safe

at church" protocols. For PREP, we will use one of two options. Both are designed to keep our parents and

children safe while on the St. Patrick campus.

Option 1:

Gathered classes at St. Patrick. Children's, catechists', and aides' temperatures

will be taken before entering sanitized classrooms. Masks must be worn and social distancing

will be strictly observed within each classroom.

Option 2:

In the unlikely event that there is a dramatic surge in the virus and we are ordered by

Governor Beshear and health officials to stay safe at home, our catechists will convene their classes

virtually as they did for the final three sessions of the PREP program year that ended on May 3. In that event,

St. Patrick will mail the curriculum, the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies student leaflets, to each PREP household.
