Weekly #112

Constant Contact Message from 5/11/2022

Hello everybody!

We have an important event coming up this Sunday. The Church worldwide is in the first phase of participation in a Synod to be held in October 2023 at the Vatican. This phase is about meaningful conversation, listening, and collecting input from members of the Body of Christ, whether active or on the margins. We will be discussing and recording insights from the following questions:

What space is there in the Church to hear the voice of minorities, especially people who experience poverty, marginalization, or social exclusion?

What hinders the baptized from being active in mission?

What is the Holy Spirit saying to us in this conversation today?

Our listening session will begin with a light meal and last about two hours with small group discussions and large group sharing. Input from sessions in parishes across the Archdiocese (and the world) will be collected and sent to Rome. We will begin following the 5:30 p.m. Mass at 6:30 p.m. and go until about 8:30 p.m. I’m looking forward to the conversation and hope you will be able to join me. You may review in advance the Listening-Session-Participant-Overview.pdf (archlou.org).

For food purposes, we are asking for an RSVP to Tim Grove at to tgrove@stpatlou.org or 719-0362, but you are welcome to come even if you don’t RSVP. For those who cannot participate on Sunday at St. Patrick, the online survey can be found HERE. Thanks for lending your voice to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church!

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
