Welcome FAQs

What is Welcome?

Welcome is a weekend retreat experience designed to bring parish members together in Christ. It is a time to grow in your faith and your understanding of the Christian life.

It is also one of the best ways to meet and get to know an awesome group of parishioners you may not get the opportunity to meet otherwise. Welcome is an updated version of “Christ Renews His Parish” retreat ministry that started in 1969 and became the primary instrument of personal and parish renewal in more than 1,200 parishes nationwide.

Who may attend?

Welcome weekend is open to any parishioner of St. Patrick who is age 21 or over.

What happens on the weekend?

Welcome weekend combines powerful witness talks by retreat leaders with small group discussions, meals, Mass, prayer, and social time. There also will be an opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation. Welcome is your opportunity to explore Christ’s call to you in a relaxed and supportive environment. It’s also a time for you to respond to God’s call to a deeper and closer relationship with Him.

You will meet with a heterogeneous group of parishioners who are seeking a deeper relationship with God -- people who also have questions, doubts, hopes, and desires that challenge them to move forward on their faith journey. Come prepared to have fun while renewing and strengthening your faith.

Where does the weekend take place?

The weekend takes place entirely on the St. Patrick campus. You are asked to bring your own sleeping bag or bed roll, and pillow. Air mattresses are provided but you also can bring your own. Also, please bring your own towel, washcloth, soap, and toiletries.

What do I wear?

This is a relaxing weekend. Dress in casual, comfortable clothing on Saturday. On Sunday we will be attending mass with the parish at 8:30am so please dress how you would for mass.

Am I required to talk in front of the entire group?

No one will be required to get up and speak in front of a large group. You will have the opportunity to share in small group but you are not required to do so. Talk as much or as little as you are comfortable.

What does the weekend cost?

The weekend is a gift to you from the parish and volunteers. There is no cost to you. Meals and materials are provided.

How do I register?

Registration is easy. Click HERE and complete the online form. Each men’s and women’s weekend is limited to 25 persons.
